Some of the most prestigious universities in Wales are teaching their students to code.
But for many students, it is still a difficult road to learning.
A report by the National Association for the Teaching of Computer Science (NATCS) has found that some of Wales’s top schools have the lowest online learning rates.
This means the students need to spend much longer learning to code, rather than learning online.
Nats first launched the report in June this year.
It looked at how many students from all levels of education, whether primary, secondary or tertiary, are enrolled in the online learning sector.
In Wales, the average age of the students is 22, but the average time to complete the course is nearly eight months.
The report also looked at the impact of online learning on the learning experience.
There were a range of factors associated with learning online: how the students were using technology; the type of technology they were using, such as mobile phones; and how the technology was used.
The survey found that for all learners who completed the course, the online course was better for their learning than the offline course.
The study found that the average students’ learning outcomes in online learning were: less mobile phone use and a lower level of online use.
However, the researchers also found that more online learners were achieving lower levels of study completion and better learning outcomes than those who did not use technology.
Students who had attended a secondary or lower-level school in Wales, but not the university, had the highest online learning rate.
For example, students at schools with more than five students were more likely to complete an online course than students in schools with two students.
However it was found that a higher proportion of students from disadvantaged backgrounds were more than six years behind their peers in terms of completion and study.
The researchers found that this was because students from high-income households were more often attending a secondary school or less likely to have access to a university degree.
They also found a higher number of students were enrolled in a secondary education and more students were required to study for their GCSEs.
For the most part, online learning was associated with lower levels and higher learning outcomes for the students who had been enrolled in online classes.
However the research also found students from low-income backgrounds had lower learning outcomes.
For instance, students from lower-income families had lower levels, and more time spent online than students from higher-income students.
This was not a case for students from more advantaged backgrounds, however.
They had higher levels of online study completion.
The Nats report found that while the UK has an average online learning time of less than eight months, the national average was more than nine months.
There are some similarities between the UK and Wales, as there are two national education systems and the UK does not have an international system of higher education.
However for students in Wales there is a national system, with universities in the capital Cardiff, and in Wales the Welsh Government runs a separate online system.
The National Union of Teachers and Students (NUTS) also said the Nats findings were very concerning.

While Wales is one of the best places to study, the Welsh system is only able to deliver online learning when all students are enrolled.”

The NATS report found many students were struggling to get online classes taught by primary or secondary teachers.
However this did not mean they were not learning online, rather it meant they were completing more classes online.
It is important to remember that a school is a school and needs to be taught in a way that suits the student.
If a school doesn’t teach the required level of knowledge in the classroom, students will not be learning online and may not complete a course.
If they are not learning the required information then it is better to start from scratch.
NATS said it was important that schools were teaching students the skills that they need.
They said they were looking at ways to make this happen.
Natures approach to teaching online is similar to how it is for teachers in the UK, which is to offer a range to students.
For students in the Midlands, for example, a primary school in London offers a range that includes computer science, engineering, physical sciences, maths, and business.
A secondary school in Leeds is also offering a range.
For secondary students, NATS also recommends having a mix of online and primary courses.
For those with a technical background, Nats recommends learning from an online tutor.
Students may also want to take advantage of the National Learning Plan.
This is a set of initiatives aimed at ensuring that students are taught the correct way.
