The Education Systems CEO Jack Dorseys Education Systems Group is getting the Education Department job.
Education Secretary Betsy DeVos announced Dorsey will head the department in a statement released by the White House.
The move comes after years of controversy over Dorsey’s handling of the Department of Education.
In 2017, the DOJ investigated Dorsey and the Education Systems over allegations of falsifying data on its students’ standardized test scores and other problems.
In February 2018, a federal judge found Dorsey violated the federal False Claims Act and ordered him to pay a $7.7 million fine.
A day after the DOJ ruling, the Education Dept. said Dorsey would be allowed to remain in the job.
